Love this pub Spent a lovely evening with friends at the Spice Merchant. The food was as delicious as always, and the staff were helpful and friendly. We shared the mixed starters and that filled us up, so thought we may struggle to finish our main courses, but they were so tasty it ended up not being a problem! Feel very lucky to live locally to this great pub with a fantastic atmosphere, which serves, in my opinion, the best Thai food in the area.

Excellent Food and Service I have not eaten in The Spice Merchant for a long time and I have certainly been missing out. The food was excellent, tasty and good portions well presented and the service was excellent. The team of Aislinn, Leah, Ella and Ashleigh were absolutely fantastic, providing excellent service, were good fun and really friendly. The kitchen team need thanking as well. Wonderful ! We visited again last week with our friends who have an elderly dog. Understandably, dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. However we were seated in the bar and the staff were kindness itself. There are not many staff yet the waiting is minimal as they all work so hard. The prawn toast is the best I’ve ever had ! Really big prawns on large chunks of bread. Then had chicken satay. For mains we had lamb shank massaman curry which my husband thought was fantastic , and I had chicken and pineapple. Served in a half a pineapple shell. Delish and portions so big I couldn’t eat it all. No room for dessert sadly. Coffee was average but that’s a minor point , Also liked the way service was not added and no one tried to force this on us. We gave 10% as we were very pleased. Just cant wait to go back. Great Indian lunch We were meeting up with a friend for Sunday lunch here. We parked on the road outside, which is unlimited on a Sunday. The restaurant looks very appealing both outside and inside. There are a few areas within the restaurant to eat. We were seated immediately in one of the areas to the side. The restaurant was pretty empty and when another party arrived, they were seated on the complete opposite side of the restaurant. This was nice on this occasion as it allowed us to speak at leisure. We ordered drinks while we checked out the menu. The service was very attentive and helpful. Drinks and popadoms arrived first, followed later by our main meal. All of the food was of great quality, good sized portions and full of flavour. I particularly liked the sag paneer and the way they had browned the paneer. Best Thai I have eaten in a long time! An absolutely fabulous night ! We went for my husbands Birthday. We started with duck spring rolls , chicken satay and amazing prawn toast , thicker bread absolutely stuffed with prawns. For mains I had a chicken and prawn rice dish and John had lamb shank massaman curry. They were excellent. The two young girls , Charlotte and Freya were so busy yet nothing was too much trouble. At the end they placed a candle on the chocolate cake I bought and they both sang Happy Birthday ! lovely freshly cooked food This is a great place for get togethers. 11 of us were here for a birthday celebration , lovely and spacious, no loud music , we all agreed that the food was delicious, hot, and all brought out at the same time. Nice staff. I ate chicken Balinese-chicken so tender , my daughters dish (fried rice mains) was served in a whole half pineapple, impressive! The younger children were able to go out into the enclosed garden after our meal Highly recommend the Spice Merchant !
